A journey that will touch 7 countries (England, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy) and 14 of the most prestigious Abbeys on our continent, many of which are UNESCO heritage sites: this is the program of the special event conceived and promoted by Livia Pomodoro which in three years, from 2023 to 2025, will cross Europe, ending its journey in Rome on the occasion of the Holy Year.
Not just a pilgrimage translated into a modern key, but a moment of meeting and learning in these places that are symbols of European history and spirituality. In fact, in each selected Abbey, in addition to bringing shows, artistic performances and ad hoc concerts based on the history, spiritual vocation and cultural heritage present in these thousand-year-old buildings which are still vital points of reference for the community today, conferences and round tables will be organised. and conferences
dedicated to the territories and their excellence, produced both with traditional methods that respect nature and environmental impact and with modern bio-sustainable techniques.
In the fabulous scenery of the Certosa di Padula, the fourth and final stage of the journey for 2023, on 21 December the word “Beauty” will be expressed through three distinct moments. In the morning, from 11.30 am, the conference will be held on Bio-sustainability, agri-food excellence, tourism and the future of territorial centers in Italy and Europe: Bio-district and ParcoCilento chaired by Livia Pomodoro, holder of the UNESCO Chair “Food Systems for Sustainable Development and Social Inclusion” at the State University of Milan, dedicated to the Cilento bio-district: a territorial excellence for both Southern Italy and Europe.
At 6.30 pm, the meeting “Beauty in religion and ethics” with H.E.R. The day will end, starting at 7pm, with the concert for piano and voice by Antonella Ruggiero.
“We are more than happy to have chosen the Certosa di Padula as the last stop on our journey for 2023 – declared Livia Pomodoro, President of the Spazio Teatro No’hma in Milan and creator of the event. – An ideal setting that testifies not only to the beauty, but also to the culture and history of a territory that is now at the forefront of research into bio-sustainability in the agri-food field. An innovation carried out in recent years by the Cilento bio-district without ever losing sight of its roots and traditions, thus creating an excellence that, in Europe, speaks of Italy“.
“On the way” is among the events selected by H.E.R. Mons. Rino Fisichella for the Jubilee 2025, whose motto is Pellegrini di Speranza.
We are accompanied on our journey by the European Vie Francigene Association (EAVF) and the network of Organic Cities committed to the dissemination of good bio-friendly practices for the circular economy.
Over the three-year period, stage after stage, an orchestra will be formed involving musicians and students from the conservatories of the territories of the Abbeys. The “In viaggio” orchestra will have the Archimia string quartet as its initial nucleus, until it arrives in Rome in 2025 with an orchestra that will perform an original composition written for the occasion by Maestro Fabio Vacchi, one of the most appreciated and awarded internationally.
